Rally Four

Privacy, in plain terms

Rally Four is a free game by RTG Game Labs, a brand of RTG Product Labs. It works without an account. Playing other people online is optional and needs a Game Labs player name.

Your records stay here

This browser stores your sound, motion and aim-line settings, how many matches you have won, lost and drawn against each computer level, your win streaks, your fewest winning shots and your Hot Rally count. It also stores whether you have seen the first-visit tutorial. None of this is sent anywhere, and it does not sync to other devices. If browser storage is blocked, settings and records last only on the current page.

Playing people online (optional)

To play someone online you need a Game Labs player name (see the Game Labs privacy page). While the game is open with a name, it keeps a connection to our server so friends can see you are online and challenge you. For as long as that connection is open, the server keeps your name and whether you are free, playing or looking for a game; closing the game drops it. Each match runs on our server and is deleted when it closes. During a match this tab keeps the room key, so a reload can rejoin; it goes when you leave the match or close the tab. Online play talks to our server whatever your analytics choice, because a match cannot run without it. Other players see your name, your shots and the fixed quick-chat phrases you pick; there is no free text between players.

With your player name, in Cloudflare D1, we store your friends and friend requests, the players you block, your “who can challenge me” setting and any report you make (who, this game, a fixed reason and when). Hourly counters of games, challenges, searches and reports are keyed by a one-way hash, not your name, and deleted after two days. Unanswered friend requests lapse after 30 days. Deleting your name at rtggamelabs.com/player removes your friends, requests, blocks, setting and any reports by or about you straight away; a match or connection already open carries on until it closes, and the hourly counters go within two days.

An invite link carries a random room key. The game takes it out of the address bar as soon as the page opens, but your browser history may still list the full link. The key is not sent to analytics.

How play counts work

Outside the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland, product analytics (PostHog, based in the United States) are on by default to help us improve the game; use the button above to turn them off at any time. Global Privacy Control and Do Not Track are honored automatically and always keep analytics off with no prompt, even if you had allowed analytics on this browser before.

In the EU/EEA, UK and Switzerland, and wherever we cannot tell, we ask first with a small floating card on the game page. Until you allow it, PostHog is not loaded; the page may still send one anonymous visit count with no player or browser ID.

If analytics are on, PostHog receives a random browser ID, session ID, which screen you opened (the menu, a match against a computer level or an online match, never a page address) and fixed milestones: match start, match completed (win, loss or draw, grouped shot count, Hot Rally discs used), match left early and full-screen use. Events include approximate country from the service edge when available; event IP is masked. We do not send aim angles, drag gestures, disc paths, key presses, arbitrary link parameters, typed text or raw error messages. There is no session recording, no device fingerprinting, no advertising and no sale of data.

For RTG Game Labs testing

Hosting and network providers receive the connection information needed to serve requests, including your IP address, in their own logs; that is separate from the controls above.

Change your choice

Use the button under “How play counts work” above. Turning analytics off immediately removes the stored measurement ID, attribution and activation record from this browser; previously delivered events remain. Your records are separate and stay intact either way. Embedded play keeps no analytics at all.
